The Gerbing’s heated socks in connection with our power
regulator ensure you high comfort during the flights through all
seasons. The heating power is adjusted by the control knob. The left
endstop means minimum and the right endstop means maximum power rate.
The power regulator is designed to be attached to the rear side of the
instrument panel, it is also possible to use it freely without any
mounting. The red pilot light located near the
control knob indicates the connection to the electric
power. The heated socks are connected to the power regulator by one
Y-cable, which supplies both of them and can be hidden into the trouser-legs.
The effect of thick warm socks heated with wire heating elements is sufficiet also for very low temperatures. The socks should be used preventively before You start to feel any cold, the heating power of 60-80% is sufficient for common wawe flights when used preventively. One common 12V/7Ah lead battery is a sufficient supply which will last around 5 hours of use with reduced heating power (70%) or 3,5 hours at full power.
